Jose is a 13-month-old boy from Guatemala. He enjoys eating mango and eggs, and he is the only boy in a family of sisters. Jose’s mother takes care of the household, while his father earns a living cutting hair and cultivating crops in the countryside.
Jose has been diagnosed with malnutrition, a condition in which the body does not receive the proper nutrients to grow healthily. On March 16, Jose will begin treatment at Clinic Tecpán, our medical partner’s care center. Our medical partner, Wuqu’ Kawoq, is asking for $492 to fund Jose’s nutritional supplements. This money will also pay for an educational program for his mother to learn how to create a nutrient-rich diet for Jose using limited resources.
With treatment, Jose will grow up strong and healthy!
