Srey La is a 31-year-old farmer who lives in Cambodia. She has seven sisters and one brother. In her free time, Srey La likes to do housework, watch TV, and chat with her friends.
When she was a child, Srey La developed an ear infection in her right ear that eventually spread to her left ear. Due to the infection, her eardrum is now perforated on both sides, causing Srey La to experience hearing loss and a ringing or buzzing in her ears. Srey La worries that her ear problems will become more and more serious because she has tried a variety of treatments to no avail.
Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Center, is requesting $831 to cover the cost of a bilateral myringoplasty for Srey La. This procedure is scheduled to take place on June 20 and will repair the perforations in Srey La’s eardrum, hopefully allowing her hearing to improve.
