Khryzanelle is a loving mother from Philippines. Khryzanelle, her husband and their baby live with her mother and father. Her husband works as a service staff at a local restaurant and her father works as a security guard. She spends her days mostly taking care of her two year old baby. Three years ago, Khryzanelle began to experience troubling symptoms, including severe abdominal pain. At first she thought that it was related to her pregnancy. Three months after giving birth, the pain returned and lasted for a week. She decided to seek medical attention and through ultrasound, she was diagnosed with gallstones. Khryzanelle has been advised to undergo gallbladder removal surgery, or cholecystectomy. If left untreated, her symptoms will continue to worsen and put her at risk for further health complications in the future. After seeking treatment through our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), Khryzanelle was able to schedule her surgery. A portion of the cost of the procedure is being supported by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and WSFP is raising the remaining $1,128 to cover the cost of Khryzanelle's surgery and care. Khryzanelle shared "This free surgery will not only help me but my husband and my father. There is no way we can afford this surgery so I am very grateful for your help. Thank you and may God bless you and your families."

Sok Kha is a 54-year-old widow who lives alone in Kratie province. She has one daughter who works in Kampong Som province. She grows bananas and mangoes to support her simple lifestyle, visits with neighbors, and enjoys cleaning and arranging her home. This January, Sok Kha injured her wrist in a motorbike accident. Since she was unable to afford care at the local hospital, she visited a traditional Cambodian healer where she received herbs and a splint. A month later, her hand was still red and swollen and she had a pressure injury on her wrist caused by the splint, making it difficult for her to use her hand. Surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, are able to treat her injury and on February 22nd, Sok Kha will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which costs $483. The procedure will repair the displaced bone, eliminate the infection, and make it possible for her to use her hand and perform daily tasks again. She said: "After surgery, I hope I will be able to work in my orchard and have no more pain or infection."

Ireen is a 24-year-old single mother from Malawi. To support her family, Ireen grows maize. While fetching firewood, Ireen fell and fractured her elbow. Because of the pain, she is unable to perform daily tasks and work on the farm. If left untreated, it may result in the non-union of the fractured bone. She is scheduled for surgery on March 12th and our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $525 for her surgery and care. Treatment will relieve Ireen of the pain and help her resume working on her farm again. Ireen says, “I hope to receive treatment so that I can take care of my child.”
