Hope is a widow from Uganda. She is married with three children, all of which are in primary school. Her husband passed away in 2008 and they have struggled financially since. She does small-scale farming to earn a living.
Hope developed an inguinal hernia 15 years ago. This hernia causes her pain and it is affecting her ability to work on her farm. Fortunately, on July 7th, she will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $219 to fund Hope’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live more comfortably and confidently.
Hope shared, “I wish this condition could be treated because it has really affected my life. I still have young children to care for. I will continue to work on my farms for the survival of my family once I have recovered.”
