Upendo is a hair dresser from Tanzania. She is a a mother of three children.
Upendo started having left knee problems when she was as young as seven years old. Her parents tried to treat her using traditional medicine, but it didn’t help. They could not take her to the hospital due to financial challenges. She grew up with the knee problems, which have been causing her pain when she walks.
Fortunately, Upendo learned about our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF). At AMHF’s care center, surgeons can perform a total knee replacement to relieve Upendo of her pain and allow her to walk easily. Treatment is scheduled for December 14, and Upendo needs help raising $822 to pay for this procedure.
Upendo says, “Please help me, I have tried to get treatment for my knee for many years but with no success. It’s now gotten really worse. Please help me.”
