Kasigaire is a 30-year-old husband and father of two from Uganda. He went to school until third grade and earns a living as a motorcycle transport driver, locally known as ‘boda boda’ transport.
“Income from this kind of work is not enough to cater for all his family needs. But he doesn’t expect to get a better job because he is not educated,” says our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF).
“Kasigaire has lived with right scrotal swelling for seven years,” explains AMHF. “It keeps increasing in size and it’s now big. He is concerned that it might grow even bigger and he ends up dying.”
Worried about his health, Kasigaire visited a local hospital but couldn’t afford surgery. His condition is known as hydrocele, caused when a sac of watery fluid builds up around the scrotum. Though the condition is unlikely to cause harm, Kasaigaire is in pain from the swelling. “He is unable to walk well and he feels uncomfortable,” AMHF says.
For $185, we can fund a hydrocele repair surgery to remove the excess fluid, relieving Kasigaire’s pain. He shares, “I am kindly requesting you to help me have surgery. Thank you.”
