Mwesige is a small business woman from Uganda. She is a widow and a mother. She sells secondhand clothes in the market. Mwesige uses the money she earns to pay for her son’s university tuition.
For ten years, Mwesige has been experiencing lower abdominal pain and heavy bleeding. She has been diagnosed with uterine fibroids. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $268 to fund Mwesige’s surgery. On February 13, she will undergo gynecological surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Once recovered, Mwesige will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain.
Mwesige says, “After surgery I will continue with my business of selling secondhand clothes in the market.”
