Noreda is a 55-year-old single mother from Uganda. She has four children, of whom three are in school. She earns a living selling pancakes and coffee beans. When not working, she enjoys weaving mats and dancing with her children.
For five years, Noreda has been living with pain in her abdomen. Over time, the pain has gotten worse. Noreda sought treatment with a local doctor, who diagnosed her with an enlarged liver due to an inflamed gall bladder. He recommended she undergo a laparotomy to have her gall bladder removed.
On August 2, Noreda will undergo surgery at our medical parent’s care center, Bwindi Community Hospital. Our medical partner, The Kellermann Foundation, is asking for $307 to cover the cost of her surgery.
“God bless the donors for helping pay for my treatment,” says Noreda.
After surgery, Noreda looks forward to starting a business selling food stuffs in addition to her pancake business.
