Phionah is a 30-year-old small-scale farmer. Her husband operates a small shop in one of the two rooms in their semi-permanent living house. The couple is blessed with two children who are in school, and they are expecting their third child.
Phionah pursued a teaching course in college after completing her secondary school education. Although she worked as a teacher for two years, Phionah was underpaid and sometimes not paid at all. Her husband convinced her to pursue farming instead. With the COVID-19 pandemic, their income flow has been inconsistent, and the couple finds it difficult to cover to their basic needs and also pay for medical treatment.
Her doctors recommend that she deliver via a caesarean section to ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Phionah undergo a C-Section on November 8th. This procedure will cost $252, and Phionah needs your support.
Phionah says: “I request support to be able to deliver my child since we do not have money to pay for surgery.”
