“My children have just finished school and they really need me at home,” shares Eunice, a mother of four from Kenya. “I want to get treated so that I can go home and be with them.”
On October 21, Eunice was walking to go milk her cows when she slipped on a wet patch of ground. When she tried to stand up, Eunice found she could not walk on her right foot. She was brought to the nearest hospital, where an x-ray diagnosed her with a right bimalleolar fracture, a serious ankle break.
In order to heal this kind of fracture, Eunice needs to undergo a procedure known as open reduction internal fixation. Surgeons will align the broken parts of her bone and secure them in place using hardware (such as a screw).
However, Eunice cannot afford to spend this kind of money on medical bills. Since Eunice takes care of the children, her husband is the sole breadwinner. Although he works hard as a carpenter to make ends meet, the couple has not been able to save up the kind of money needed for this procedure.
But with your help, Eunice can still gain access to her crucial treatment. By raising $771, we can fund Eunice’s operation on November 2, as well as her lab tests and medications.
Let’s make sure Eunice returns back to her children as soon as possible.
