Meet Kellen, a 58-year-old grandmother and vegetable farmer from Uganda. Kellen grows beans, potatoes, and other crops to support herself. In her free time, Kellen enjoys visiting her friends and teaching her grandchildren how to weave baskets and mats.
For the last 20 years, Kellen has experienced a constant pain in a sensitive area. She has tried to relieve her symptoms with local herbs and pain medication. Kellen shares with our medical partner, The Kellermann Foundation, that the pain has significantly worsened in the last two months.
Kellen has now been diagnosed with uterine fibroids and a prolapsed uterus. On August 23, Kellen will undergo a hysterectomy to treat her condition. The total cost of Kellen’s surgery is $321.
“Thank you to the donors for supporting my treatment. I pray that God blesses you all,” says Kellen.
