Sithorng is a four-year-old girl from Cambodia. She has one sister and one brother. She is the middle child. She likes to play with her dolls at home.
Sithorng has strabismus in both eyes. Strabismus is a misalignment of the eye caused by injury or dysfunction in the associated nerves and muscles. She has difficulty seeing clearly.
Sithorng traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On September 11, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), will perform a corrective procedure to align her eyes. Now, Sithorng needs help to raise $292 to fund this procedure.
Her father says, “I hope my daughter’s eyes are straight so she can see well.”

Sithorng underwent eye surgery.
Sithorng’s operation went smoothly and she has returned home. Her eye is a little bit swollen after surgery, but she’s been given drops to reduce inflammation and prevent infection. Following surgery, Sithorng’s eyes have been straightened, improving her vision and confidence.
Her mother says, “My daughter is good looking with straight eyes. I won’t worry about her vision anymore.”
