Austin is a five-month old boy from Kenya. He has big brown eyes and a sweet temperament. He’s the first child of his parents, a barber and a primary school teacher, who love him dearly.
Austin was born with hypospadias, a defect where the urethral orifice is abnormally placed, and mild chordee. The condition may cause urinary tract infections and other dysfunctions later in life. Doctors recommend Austin undergo surgery, but his parents can’t afford the procedure.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $700 to fund Austin’s hypospadias repair surgery, which will take place on May 3.
“I want to give my children the best. I don’t want Austin to blame me in the future for not helping him find treatment,” says his mother. “We’ll appreciate any support.”
