Thy is a 59-year-old food seller. He is married with one daughter and two grandchildren. Thy and his wife sell food together to make a living. In his free time, he likes to listen to the news on the radio and watch boxing on TV.
Three years ago, Thy developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him sensitivity to light and blurry vision. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Thy learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for an hour seeking treatment. On October 21st, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Thy shared, “I hope I can see clearly so I can help my wife with work and can recognize things well.”
