Seng is a 55-year-old vegetable farmer from Cambodia. She has two sons, two daughters, and enjoys watching television and working on her farm.
One year ago, Seng had an ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the ear drum, in her left ear to perforate. For this reason, Seng experiences ear discharge, smelliness, dizziness, tinnitus, and hearing loss. She cannot hear others clearly and this effects her communication with others.
Seng traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On December 11th, she will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in her left ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $423 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care.
“I hope that after my surgery, my hearing will improve and I will no longer have an ear infection,” shared Seng.
