Jane is a small scale farmer from Kenya. She is married and a mother of eight children. Jane farms maize and beans to be able to support the family.
Three years ago, Jane began to experience troubling symptoms, including throat pain and fatigue. She was diagnosed with a multinodular goiter. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Jane receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on December 27 at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $641, and she and her family need help raising money.
“I want to see my children prosper in life, they are determined and focused,” says Jane.
