Timothy is a sweet 4-month-old baby who is the last born in a family of four children being raised by two caring parents. The father works as an ICT specialist, and the mother is a banker. Their jobs enable them to provide for their family but with three children in school, they need to spend a significant amount of money to cover school fees and other school expenses. Timothy was born with a congenital condition where his leg was twisted inward and downward. The parents were advised on the best treatment plan for their son’s condition at the center where Timothy was born. He started treatment for clubfoot with a series of castings and then had a tenotomy. After the procedure, they faced an unexpected hurdle. The hospital could not provide the Foot Abduction Brace (FAB) to Timothy. As this equipment was crucial in his treatment process, they were directed to our center for further assistance. Upon arrival at our center and a sit-down with our team, our clubfoot specialist realized that Timothy’s foot still required casting. This news was troubling to the parents, as they had spent two months in treatment with the hope that they were about to finish treatment. After spending so much money on their first attempt at treatment. The parents have exhausted their savings. They are asking for help to cover their son’s treatment. Timothy's family traveled to visit our medical partner's care center, Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre where surgeons will perform clubfoot repair surgery on May 12th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $935 to fund Timothy's clubfoot repair. After treatment, he will be able to walk with ease once as he grows and can live a full life ahead. Timothy’s mother says, "We still have hope that our son will be fine; we just have to get through with the treatment."

Collins is a handsome, two-year-old boy living in Roysambu, Kenya, with his parents and two siblings. Collins' mother is a housewife while his father works as a driver. In June 2022, Collins was diagnosed with cryptorchidism, a condition in which one or both testicles remains undescended. Surgery was performed in July 2022, but about a month ago, Collins' mother noticed that his testis had retreated into his groin again. The surgeon ordered a repeat orchidopexy- corrective surgery- which the family cannot afford and the NHIF has refused to pay for. They have been told that without surgery, Collins has an increased risk of developing hernias and testicular cancer, as well as experiencing fertility issues in the future. Fortunately, Collins will be receiving assistance from our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation. He is now scheduled to undergo corrective surgery on March 20th at Nazareth Hospital. African Mission Healthcare Foundation is requesting $483 to cover the total cost of Collins' procedure and care. “I am disappointed NHIF could not help us; I still hope that my baby is treated soon since I was explained the risks. We ask for your support so that he can get back to his normal growth like other boys,” said Collins' mother

Chhin is a 73-year-old retired clothes seller from Phnom Penh. Chhin's husband passed away two years ago, leaving her widowed. She has one son, three daughters, and three grandchildren. She lives with her youngest daughter, who is a teacher. In her spare time, Chhin listens to the news and prayers from monks over the radio. About a year ago, Chhin developed a cataract in her left eye, causing itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. She can no longer see people, colors, or places clearly as the cataract continues to worsen. As a result, she can no longer walk to her local pagoda for prayers and feels lonely and isolated at home. When Chhin learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), she traveled for over an hour to seek treatment. Doctors at CSC were able to diagnose Chhin and create a treatment plan that will help fix her eyesight. On May 9th, doctors will perform cataract surgery and implant an intraocular lens in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. CSC is requesting $253 to help fund this procedure. Chhin said, "I am hoping to have successful surgery on my eye so that I can easily go out and recognize things, do household chores, and take care of myself and my grandchildren."
