Bavawala is a wide-smiling farmer from Uganda. He’s a loving husband and the father of six children.
Bavawala has had a left inguinal hernia for years. In recent months, the hernia has grown in size and become so painful that he’s no longer able to work. If left untreated, the hernia could strangulate and potentially become life-threatening. Doctors have recommended Bavawala undergo hernia repair surgery, but he can’t afford the treatment.
On August 3, Bavawala will receive hernia repair surgery. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $219 to fund the operation.
Bavawala is grateful to Watsi for supporting his treatment. “After this surgery, I will continue with my small scale farming to cater for my family,” he says.
