Sandip is a three-year-old boy who lives with his parents and siblings in Nepal. His family is entirely dependent on agriculture for their living. The yield from their field keeps them going for about three months of the year.
Sandip developed an abscess on his inguinal region about a week ago. Not only has it been extremely painful, but it has also caused swelling and abdominal pain. Unable to tolerate it any longer, his mother took a nine hour walk to come to Possible’s hub – Bayalpata Hospital, after being advised by the health post in their village.
For $157, Sandip will undergo an incision and drainage procedure to cure his abscess and will need to keep a hygienic dressing on it regularly.
“I would be thankful to the hospital if my son gets his treatment soon,” says Sandip’s mother.
