SreyPov is a 51-year-old wife and mother of three from Cambodia. She has a son and two daughters, all in public school. Her husband works in an office at a private company in Cambodia. To help support her family, she makes snacks to sell near the local public school and spends her evenings helping her children with homework.
In 2014, SreyPov was involved in a motorbike accident that resulted in a severe fracture in her lower right leg. She went to a government hospital where doctors placed hardware in her leg to help stabilize the bone and assist with healing her fracture. Over time, the bone was able to heal, but the hardware is now infected, resulting in chronic pain severely impacting her mobility.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), can help SreyPov. On April 21st, SreyPov will undergo a hardware removal procedure. CSC is requesting $304 to fund the procedure. Removal of the hardware will reduce the chronic pain SreyPov faces daily and grant her greater mobility and strength.
She shared, “After surgery, I hope the doctors will remove the hardware and I will have no more pain.”
