Mom is a rice farmer from Cambodia. She has five children and four grandchildren. She likes listening to Thai and Cambodian music.
Eight months ago, Mom developed a cataract in each eye, causing her blurry vision and watery eyes. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Mom learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for two hours seeking treatment. On November 15, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $398 procedure.
Her sister says, “I hope my sister can see so I don’t have to always worry about her.”
