When he was nine years old, Isaac was bitten by a snake. The skin around his ankle became severely contracted as a result, limiting the mobility of his foot and making it difficult for him to walk.
For nearly half his life, Isaac has dealt with the after effects of what should have been an isolated incident. He is three years behind in school because of the time he spent recovering from the bite and his inability to walk to school every day. CURE adds, “Isaac enjoys soccer but he is only able to spectate since the snake bite. This may not seem like a big deal to children in other parts of the modern world, but in Africa, soccer is a way of life.”
Isaac needs a $1000 contracture release surgery, as well as potential orthopedic work, to restore mobility to his ankle so he can walk. Isaac’s parents have both passed away and he’s now supported by his grandmother, so Watsi donations will help CURE provide his care at no cost to his family.
