Socheat is a baby from Cambodia. She has one sister.
When she was five months old, she accidentally burned her hand at home. Scar contractures have developed, making it impossible to use her middle finger.
When Socheat’s family learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, they traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On October 13, surgeons at CSC will perform a burn contracture release surgery to to help restore function in her hand. Now, her family needs help to fund this $448 procedure.
Her mother says, “I hope my daughter can play normally with other children.”

Socheat underwent burn repair surgery.
Socheat’s surgery went well and she had her stitches removed before going back home. She’ll now have improved function of her hand. She’s able to bend the fingers that had contractures and is healing quickly.
