Soth is a 62-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. She has seven children, two grandchildren, and enjoys watching Khmer dramas on television in her free time.
Seven months ago, Soth developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurry vision, irritation, and tearing. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Soth learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for four and a half hours seeking treatment. On August 7, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I hope that I am able to see more clearly so I can help with the housework and take care of my grandchildren.”
