Ret is an 80-year-old potato farmer from Cambodia. He has seven children, fifteen grandchildren, and enjoys listening to the news on the radio in his free time.
One year ago, Ret developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him blurry vision, tearing, photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Ret learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for ten hours seeking treatment. On September 4th, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
“I hope that I will be able to see clearly after my surgery and can return to farming potatoes.”
