Varry is a nine-year-old third grader from Cambodia, where she lives in a rural village with her parents and two siblings. Her mother works as a teacher, and her father is a police officer. When she grows up, Varry would like to be a teacher like her mother.
Since birth, Varry has had skin tags on both ears. They have begun to make her feel embarrassed and self-conscious, and there are days when she is reluctant to go to school.
Varry sought care from our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre. On May 1st, surgeons will remove the skin tags at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre. Now Varry and her family need your help to raise $273 to fund this procedure. After this procedure, Vary will be able to attend school and pursue her dreams more confidently.
Her parents shared: “We hope she can go to school and not feel shy around the kids in her class.”

Varry underwent surgery on her face.
Varry and her parents traveled four hours from Kratie province for treatment at CSC, where she had successful surgery. To prevent infection, she will take antibiotics. She had some pain and redness after the procedure, but these symptoms improved after a few days. After Varry heals, she will no longer be self-conscious about her appearance and can enjoy school and her friends with more confidence as she grows.
Varry’s parents said: “We feel excited with good results because Varry is happy and will enjoy school and her friends more than before. We are grateful to the doctors and staff for the good care.”
