Sam Oeun is a 55-year-old grandmother. She has one son, two daughters, and two grandchildren. Sam Oeun’s husband is a tuk tuk driver.
Six months ago a mass appeared on the second finger of Sam Oeun’s right hand. The mass is a cell tumor that is swelling and growing in size. She experiences pain and now has limited functionality of her hand.
On February 3rd, surgeons at our medical partner facility, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), will remove the mass. Sam Oeun needs help to raise $231 to fund this procedure.
Sam Oeun says: “I hope the tumor can be removed so I can be free of pain and worry and my hand can move easily again.”

Sam Oeun underwent surgery to remove a mass on her hand.
Sam Oeun’s surgery was a success! The surgeons removed the tumor and are awaiting the pathology results to determine if any future procedures will be needed. Sam Oeun will stay at the hospital while her incision heals and then return home with antibiotics and instructions for her continued care. She shared that she’s hopeful the tumor will not return and that she will be free from pain. As a result of this surgery, she will be able to care for her grandchildren, take them to school, and cook for them once again.
Sam Oeun said, “I am relieved the tumor is gone, and I won’t need to have more surgery. My pain is less, and I want to use my hand again. Thank you to the CSC staff and the donors who supported my surgery so I can take care of my family.”
