Solida is a 8-year-old student in second grade in Cambodia. She is the youngest of three children. Her mother sells desserts at the market and her father is a rice farmer. At school, her favorite subject to study is English. She wants to become a nurse when she gets older, but for now she likes to write, play with her friends, and drink orange juice.
Two months ago, Solida developed an obstruction in her nasal passage. She went to a local hospital to have it removed, but the doctors were unable to, and it caused her more pain. She is at risk of infection. She now has difficulty to breath, sleep, and cannot smell anything.
Solida traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On May 12th, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), will remove the mass. Now, Solida needs help to raise $231 to fund this procedure.
Solida’s mother said, “We have been to another hospital once, and when they did not remove the obstruction I got very worried. Once her nose is better, I don’t have to worry about infection or anything.”
