Maria is a 45 year old farmer living in southwestern Uganda with her husband and four children. Maria trained in secretarial studies, and has been a school secretary for some years. Her husband operates a taxi business to make ends meet.
Two years ago, Maria began to experience backaches, lower abdominal pain, generalized body weakness, and intermittent headaches. She has been diagnosed with adenomyosis, and she will need to undergo a hysterectomy, which will heal her condition.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $219 to fund Maria’s surgery, which is scheduled for May 12th at our medical partner’s care center, Karoli Lwanga Hospital in Nyakibale. Once recovered, Maria will be able to finally go about her daily life, free of pain.
Maria says: “I hope to get better in good health and continue working to provide for my family.”
