Chhai Long is a 23-year-old cashew farmer from Cambodia. He likes playing volleyball and listening to music.
In 2010, Chhai Long was building a fence around the garden when a snake bit his hand. He was treated by a traditional healer in his village. However, the wound has since caused scar contractures around his hand and wrist. This makes working on the farm difficult.
Chhai Long needs contracture release surgery and a skin graft. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $417 to fund Chhai Long’s surgery. This will improve the function and appearance of Chhai Long’s hand, and help him work more efficiently.
