Ty is a 19-year-old construction worker from Cambodia. He has two sisters and three brothers. In his free time, Ty likes to watch football on TV, listen to music, and play volleyball with his friends.
In June of 2017, Ty was in a motor vehicle accident that caused a fracture of his left femur. He came to our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), and surgeons performed a debridement procedure to remove damaged and infected tissue. They also performed an open reduction and internal fixation procedure that fixated pins at the fracture site in order to to stabilize his bones.
Ty’s femur wound is healing nicely, but it still has to be covered. He has therefore returned to CSC for a follow-up procedure. CSC is requesting $440 to fund a skin graft for Ty, which is scheduled to take place on July 17. Once completed, Ty’s would will be covered, safe from infection, and recovering nicely so that he may walk easily again.
