Josephine is an 80-year-old, strong farmer from Kenya who still proudly walks without a walking stick. She lives with two of her grandchildren, and she loves going to church and tending to her cow.
In May of this year, Josephine began to lose vision in her right eye. She has now been diagnosed with a cataract and requires surgery to remove it.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $220 to fund Josephine’s cataract surgery. The procedure is scheduled to take place on July 3 and, once completed, will hopefully restore Josephine’s vision to its former state and allow her to live more comfortably.
“I would want to be treated and have my vision restored. I need some self-reliance and not ask my grandchildren for everything,” adds Josephine.
