Gian is a baby boy from Uganda. His mother does casual jobs to earn money and is a single parent. She shared that she cannot afford to rent a house and so she stays at her sister’s home. Gian’s aunt sells vegetables in a local market to earn a living.
Gian was diagnosed with cryptorchidism, a condition in which one or both of the testicles remains undescended. If left untreated, Gian has an increased risk of developing hernias, testicular cancer, and fertility problems in the future. Gian will be receiving assistance from our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF). Fortunately, he is scheduled to undergo corrective surgery on September 3rd. AMHF is requesting $569 to cover the total cost of his procedure and care.
Gian’s mother says, “We are very hopeful that Gian will be treated.”
