Alex is a 32-year-old, hardworking laborer, living with his wife and two young children in a small mud hut in Uganda. Alex works on jobs around the village where he lives, while his wife is a small scale farmer.
Three years ago, Alex developed a small, painless swelling on his head. Initially, it was of no concern to Alex, until it started to grow. Alex is concerned about the increasing size of the growth, and what will happen if he doesn’t have the growth removed.
Alex traveled to our medical partner’s care center - Rushoroza Hospital - to receive treatment, and on July 5th, surgeons will remove the mass. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is seeking $145 to fund this procedure.
Alex says: “I hope to look normal again and be able to live a better and more free life once again. I will continue offering work for my neighbors to earn a living after I am better.”

Alex underwent surgery to remove a mass from his scalp.
Alex had a successful mass excision surgery at Rushoroza Hospital. The scalp mass was excised successfully and he is relieved. Alex hopes to resume his usual day to day work around his village to support a living for his family. Furthermore, he is happy that he will no longer feel the need to shy away in public and can confidently participate in communal activities.
Alex says, “I am very happy that I had a successful surgery funded by your donor program. I could not have afforded it. May you continue supporting the needy. Thank you very much.”
