“Dinesh was scaling an apple tree when he lost his balance and fell down, fracturing his right leg,” shares our medical partner, Possible. “The area of fracture in his leg has swollen and he has been in pain since then.”
Dinesh, an 11-year-old boy from Nepal, “has to be carried around everywhere,” says his mother. Dinesh has not been able to attend school because it is a 30-minute walk from their home.
“It’s harvesting time, and with Dinesh unable to do basic activities, I do not get to spend as much time in the field,” says Dinesh’s mother. This has put financial strain on the family, making them unable to afford treatment for his injury.
$224 will fund the required procedure to fix Dinesh’s leg. “After the treatment, the bones in the Dinesh’s legs are expected to align correctly and heal over in one month,” Possible says. “With some physiotherapy exercises, he can do all the activities he used to.”
