Linah is a 55-year-old farmer from Kenya. She lives in a small house on her farm and takes care of her neighbor’s cattle to make a living.
Two years ago, Linah began feeling a burning on her stomach and started to cough a lot. She later observed a mass on her stomach, which prompted her to visit the hospital. She was given medication, but her symptoms did not improve.
Linah’s mass was recently diagnosed as a hernia. She cannot stand for long periods of time and has difficulty working due to the pain. Seeking treatment through our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, Linah is scheduled to undergo hernia repair surgery on July 5. She is requesting $384 to cover the total cost of her procedure and care.
“I have been tending to people’s cattle for too long. When I recover from this surgery, I will begin a kale selling business,” says Linah.
