Cho is a 44-year-old mother from Burma. She is married and has three daughters. Her husband supports their family as a bird seller.
After giving birth to her second daughter, Cho felt sick with stomach cramps. She visited a doctor, who prescribed her pain medication, and her pain subsided. In February 2017, Cho’s symptoms returned when she had emergency surgery at a local hospital for a ruptured appendix. During the surgery, she also had a kidney stone removed. However, after surgery, Cho did not feel any better.
Seeking further treatment, Cho visited our medical partner’s care center, Mae Sot General Hospital, where she was diagnosed with renal failure and severe hydronephrosis. It was determined that her symptoms are being caused by either complications in her liver or in her abdomen. On May 17, Cho will undergo a CT scan to confirm her diagnosis. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is asking for $414 to cover the cost of her treatment.
Cho is looking forward to determining her diagnosis so she can be treated and return to her family!
