Thorn is a farmer from Cambodia. He has two daughters and two grandchildren. He likes to watch the news and boxing matches on TV.
Three years ago, Thorn developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him blurry vision, irritation, tearing, and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Thorn learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On September 11, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, “I hope I can see well so I can return to work shortly.”
