Chivorn became an orphan when his parents divorced and abandoned him. A tuk tuk driver met him and took him to a pagoda where he could study and grow up with more support.
For the past month Chivorn has experienced redness, pain, and swelling on his left ear. Last week he began experiencing pus discharge from behind the ear as well. A tricycle rider saw him and brought him to our medical partner Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC) for treatment.
ENT surgeons will treat the preauricular sinus with an incision and drainage procedure. The medical team is confident that his symptoms will subside after the surgery and he will be free of pain.
Chivorn shared, “I hope that the ear pain and discharge can stop.”

Chivorn underwent ENT surgery so he can grow up pain-free.
Chivorn had successful surgery to correct his condition and heal his discomfort. He’s resting for a few days and will take antibiotics to make sure the infection has healed. Chivorn will now be able to grow up without worrying that his infection will come back.
Chivorn said: “I am happy my ear is fixed so I can hear again, and don’t have pain anymore. Thank you to the stranger who brought me to the hospital to fix my ear.”
