Ahimbisibwe is a small scale farmer from Uganda. Her husband is also a farmer, and together they own a three room semi-permanent house for shelter.
For the last two years, Ahimbisibwe has been experiencing lower abdominal pain and severe back pain. She has also not been able to conceive for many years, but each time she sought examination, doctors were unable to find any complications or issues with her fertility. Now, Ahimbisibwe has been diagnosed with uterine fibroids. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $228 to fund Ahimbisibwe’s surgery. On November 11th, she will undergo gynecological surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Once recovered, Ahimbisibwe will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain and her quality of life will improve.
Ahimbisibwe shared, “I pray that I may be considered for surgery because I am in severe pain. I will resume farming as soon as possible once given treatment.”
