Aly is a rice seller from Cambodia. He has four brothers. He likes to watch TV and listen to classical music.
Eight months ago, Aly was in a motor vehicle accident that caused paralysis of his left arm. He has been diagnosed with a brachial plexus injury on his left side. The brachial plexus is a nerve network that transmits signals from the spine to the shoulder, arm, and hand. Injuries to this nerve network can result in loss of function and sensation. He is unable to lift his arm and he cannot work.
Aly traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On September 5, he will undergo a brachial plexus repair surgery. After recovery, he will be able to move his arm again. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $637 to fund this procedure.
He says, “I want to return to work and support my family after the operation.”
