Amrie is a nine-month-old baby girl from the Philippines who lives with her parents and four other siblings. Amrie’s father fishes everyday to provide food for his family.
Amrie was recently diagnosed with malnutrition, a condition which results from consuming too little protein, calories, and nutrients. Our medical partner, International Care Ministries (ICM), is requesting $261 to fund Amrie’s enrollment in a home-based malnutrition intervention program. Beginning on June 27, Amrie will receive nutrient-enriched food packs, micronutrient supplements, and medications. ICM staff and community volunteers will make weekly visits to monitor Amrie’s progress and will educate Amrie’s parents on how to provide a healthy, wholesome, and affordable diet for their daughter.
“I want Amrie to finish school and to be healthy. Hopefully, with treatment, she will reach her target weight,” says Amrie’s mother.
