Heng enjoys listening to the radio in his free time and taking care of his five children and grandchild. Thirty years ago, Heng stepped on an active land mine, which resulted in the later amputation of his lower left leg. Heng has since undergone several procedures to treat the injuries caused by the land mine, but Heng still suffers from discomfort and his prosthetic limb is too heavy for him to walk with. He now uses two crutches to get around, but often has pain near the amputation site. Further amputation treatment Heng’s injuries will allow Heng’s leg to heal properly and prepare his leg for future refitting of a prosthetic limb. He will be able to walk comfortably and return to his work on the rice farm.
