Nancy is a cook from Kenya. She is a mother of four children and works in a nearby school. Her husband is a farmer. They live in a rental house.
Some time ago, Nancy developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurry vision. A cataract occurs when the lens of the eye becomes opaque, blurring vision. She has difficulty seeing, which is affecting her ability to work.
Fortunately, Nancy is scheduled to undergo cataract surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove and replace the blurred lens. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $220 procedure.
Nancy says, “My hope is to be treated and regain my vision. I struggle a lot with my movements around.”
