Namagoba is a 42-year-old mother of four children. She lives with two of her children, while the other two live with relatives. Namagoba rents a piece of land, on which she grows food for her family.
In 2011, Namagoba started feeling pain in a sensitive area. The pain prevented her from working and lifting heavy objects. Namagoba visited two hospitals, where she was diagnosed with a reducible right femoral hernia. She was advised to have surgery, but she could not afford to pay for treatment. Without treatment, she risked damage to her intestines or stomach.
Finally, Namagoba visited our medical partner’s hospital, Holy Family Virika Hospital. She underwent a hernia repair surgery on November 2. After recovery, Namagoba hopes to work hard and buy a piece of land for her children.
