Byaruhanga is a 42-year-old primary school teacher and farmer from Uganda. His wife is a tailor and together they have six children–four daughters and two sons who are all in school, he shared proudly.
For about a year, Byaruhanga has experienced inguinal swelling. Recently, when he was running and playing with his students, he experienced sharp pain. The pain persisted in the days that followed and prevented him from doing strenuous activities. He was diagnosed with an inguinal hernia at a local hospital and surgery was recommended.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is requesting $230 to fund Byaruhanga’s surgery. On April 20th, he will undergo hernia repair surgery at AMH’s care center. Once complete, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently.
Byaruhanga shared, “I hope the pain I have will cease once operated on so that I continue with teaching and farming to provide to my family.”
