Haruni is a baby from Tanzania. He is the youngest in a family of six children. All his older brothers and sister are in school. Haruni’s parents are both small-scale farmers of maize, beans, and vegetables.
Haruni has clubfoot of both feet. Clubfoot is a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape. This causes difficulty walking and even wearing shoes.
Fortunately, Haruni traveled to visit our medical partner’s care center, Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre. There, surgeons will perform clubfoot repair surgery on January 30. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $890 to fund Haruni’s clubfoot repair.
Haruni’s mother says, “Please help my son. We would like him to grow up and walk normally and be able to participate in all physical activity and lead a normal life.”
