Ry is a 66-year-old grocery seller from Cambodia. She has three children and four grandchildren, and in her free time she enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio.
Four years ago, Ry developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Ry learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On November 18th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
Ry said, “I hope that after my operation, I will be able to see clearly and I can return to the ceremonies and the pagoda.”
