Onesmus is a 21-year-old young man from rural Uganda. He is a high school student and expecting to take his final exams in November of this year so that he can graduate. During his free time, Onesmus enjoys helping his parents on their family’s farm and working as a porter on construction sites.
One day, on his way to work, Onesmus was hit by a speeding motorbike that resulted in multiple severe injuries, including breaking both of his legs. He will need to have surgery to properly reset his bones.
Onesmus is scheduled to undergo orthopedic surgery on May 10, and our medical partner, The Kellermann Foundation, is asking for $358 to cover the total cost of the procedure.
Onemus’s mother, Mable, wants to thank the donors for their support of her son. She says, “He is a pillar in our family supporting us in raising the fees for other children and his as well.” His mother hopes that he will be able to recover so that he can continue his studies as well as his contributions to the family farm.

Onesmus underwent orthopedic surgery.
Onesmus is young and healthy and is healing well from his surgery. He underwent a fixation for his fractures and skin grafts for the external wounds to his leg. He is ready to be discharged to continue his recovery at home. He will be coming back to the hospital in two weeks to check his progress and to have dressings put on his leg. He should eventually be able to return to all his normal activities and will be able to continue in school.
“Our family could not afford this treatment,” says Onesmus’s mother, Mabel. “We give all our thanks to the donors for supporting our son’s treatment which saved his life. May God bless them abundantly.”
