Ra lives in Cambodia, close to the Vietnamese border. He supports his wife and child by making rice wine for his village and working at a local pig farm.
Back in March, Ra was riding his motorbike and was hit by a car. Since he lives so close to the Camobdian border with Vietnam, he went to Vietnam for treatment. There, surgeons placed a nail in his right leg to stabilize his femur (the thickest bone in the body). Unfortunately, this treatment cost Ra most of his savings.
In a terrible stroke of bad luck, Ra was in another motorbike accident three days ago. In this accident, the nail in his right leg was bent, and is now causing him severe pain. Without surgical repair of his leg and a new nail, Ra won’t walk again.
Ra’s family is dedicated to his care. His brother in law and mother want to stay with him at the hospital until he can go home. They are very concerned that (without treatment) he won’t be able to return to work and support his family. Ra’s total surgery will cost $350, and allow him to return to a normal life. Let’s help him get back to his family!
